JT DOUGLAS (VELVET ROPE)

A native New Yorker, JT grew up in a musical family of eight plus pets and learned early that making people laugh and feel good was a great way to get attention. His late father John Tilton, a jazz trained drummer and singer inspired JT to follow in his footsteps and pursue a musical career. Leaving a full-time gig as a writer and art director in advertising, he vowed to teach himself guitar, learn a 100+ cover tunes and write 20+ more originals. Check. You can now find him behind the mic and in front audiences all over Arizona and in Los Angeles. His style is rock based with heavy blues, soul, even hip hop influence.
